Our JMU-8018 Thermo Expandable Microspheres are premium-grade foaming agents from the ACRYSPHERE® JM series. These JMU-8018 Thermo Expandable Microspheres feature a core-shell structure: the core contains low-boiling hydrocarbons, and the shell is made of thermoplastic polymer – specifically an acrylonitrile copolymer. Upon heating, the shell softens and the core vaporizes, causing each microsphere to expand dozens to hundreds of times its original volume.

Applications
The JMU-8018 Thermo Expandable Microspheres are versatile and suitable for a wide range of industries:
1. Three-dimensional effects
Add JMU-8018 Thermo Expandable Microspheres to inks, paints, braille embossing coatings, wallpaper, and fabrics. When heat-activated, the microspheres expand to create raised 3D patterns with tactile feel.
2. Anti-slip additives
Incorporate JMU-8018 Thermo Expandable Microspheres into carpets, cardboard, artificial fiber products, and floor mats. The expanded microspheres provide excellent slip resistance.
3. Coatings
Use JMU-8018 Thermo Expandable Microspheres in leather coatings, automotive chassis coatings, automotive interior trim, textiles, and paper. They reduce weight, improve soft-touch feel, and enhance thermal insulation.
4. Lightweight materials
These JMU-8018 Thermo Expandable Microspheres are ideal for lightweight clay, toys, porous ceramics, wine corks, PVC slippers, foamed rubber, and other low-density products. They significantly reduce density while maintaining mechanical strength.
5. Performance improvers
Add JMU-8018 Thermo Expandable Microspheres to artificial marble, cables, adhesives, and sealants to improve insulation, reduce weight, and control shrinkage.
With a higher expansion temperature range (140-210°C) compared to lower-temperature grades, JMU-8018 Thermo Expandable Microspheres are compatible with engineering plastics and high-temperature curing systems.
